The King 2103 3B Legend Professional Trombone has been the preferred trombone by studio musicians and pro Jazz players for decades. The King 3B features a .508 bore and nickel silver outer hand slide for excellent tone and quick response. The 3B Legend is available with a yellow brass bell (2103), gold brass bell (2103G), Sterling silver bell (2103S) or Sterling silver bell with gold trim (2103SGX). The 2103 3B is also available with an optional F attachment valve.
Now called the Model 2103, the 3B continues to be a legend. The reason for this undying popularity is simple. The King® 3B is perhaps the most versatile trombone of all time. Its lyrical sweetness makes it a natural for ballad work, and its exceptional clarity of tone in the high register makes it the perfect lead horn. Yet the 3B blends well with other voices, so it performs exceptionally well in section work.
Today's 2103 is the most advanced 3B ever made. Slides are drawn and polished to a level of precision unheard of until recently. Bells are spun with a consistency that has never been equaled.
The flagship of today's 3B line is the Model 2103. The 2103 has a .508" (12.9mm) straight bore and an 8" (203mm) yellow brass bell. This combination provides a mellow tone that can be easily brightened. The 2103 also has nickel silver outer slides and a clear lacquered finish. It comes equipped with a 12C Mouthpiece and a deluxe covered woodshell case.
Legend 3B Model 2103F. This proud member of the 3B family is dimensionally identical to the 2103 but features an F rotor attachment for those occasional ventures below the staff or for simplified slide positioning in fast technical passages.
It's sometimes necessary to dip below the staff to nail an E or D but still maintain a clear tenor sound, especially in section work. For these requirements we offer the King® Model 2103F. This model is nearly identical to the standard 3B, but it has an F attachment with single trigger. Not only does the F attachment come in handy when a little extra lower range is required, but it also helps simplify tricky technical passages. Because it's a 3B, the 2103F blows clean, clear, and without a trace of stuffiness. A King Classic:
For many, the King® name will always be synonymous with Sterling silver bells. And for good reason! King made its first Sterling trombone bells more than 70 years ago. This heritage continues today with the Model 2103S. This stunning instrument is dimensionally identical to the standard Model 2103, but its bell is made of sheet Sterling silver (not to be confused with the electroplated bells occasionally seen on the market). The Sterling bell offers a degree of tonal warmth that cannot be surpassed.
