The Holton Farkas H179 and H279 Double French Horn are a free blowing horn with a rich, dark sound designed especially for the "big horn" artist. The Farkas H179 F Horn has tapered tubing and the bell throat is larger for a bigger, darker, tone. The bell flare produces a mellow, velvety tone plus a little overtone of a ringing quality. Hard nickel silver responds quickly and sounds brighter up close. The Farkas H179 Double Horn is also available in a screw bell model as model H279. The H179 Horn is the most popular model in the Farkas Horn series.
